Emre joined EvenUp nearly six months ago after a sabbatical. He notes how excited he was to contribute to a mission-driven company solving real-world challenges.
“I initially wanted to join a medium to large-scale public company, but EvenUp’s culture, camaraderie, and focus on solving challenging problems won me over,” Emre shares.

Emre’s path to EvenUp is marked by a strong research foundation and a curiosity to solve real-world challenges. After completing his PhD and post-doctoral work in mixed-integer nonlinear optimization applications, he explored industries ranging from national laboratories to major tech companies and startups.
“I’ve always looked for opportunities where my work could have a meaningful impact, and I thought machine learning applications of computer vision and recommendation were a natural fit for my background and expertise,” Emre explains.
EvenUp’s mission to empower personal injury victims resonated deeply with him. It also helped him find an AI and data science team committed to cutting-edge advancements and practical innovation.
“It was clear from the start that this was a team focused on staying at the forefront of machine learning,” he says.
Now part of EvenUp’s machine learning team, Emre is helping develop solutions that transform the handling of personal injury cases, marrying technical precision with human impact.
Emre quickly ramped up as a Machine Learning Engineer, focusing on EvenUp’s Case Companion, a legal AI assistant product designed to provide case insights based on complex legal documentation. His work ensures that answers to user questions are highlighted clearly and accurately within medical records, police reports, and more.
“It’s rewarding to see Case Companion helping users access accurate answers with citations, all while making the experience intuitive,” Emre says.
EvenUp’s collaborative and open environment has stood out to Emre during his company tenure. Unlike his past experiences at designer-led organizations, he appreciates the ability to provide feedback and actually see it implemented—fostering innovation across teams.
